All are welcome for Ash Wednesday and Imposition of Ashes at 12:00 noon or 5:30 p.m.
Ash Wednesday is the first of the 40 days of Lent, named for the custom of of placing blessed ashes on the foreheads of worshiper during the service. The ashes are a sign of penitence and a reminder of mortality, and are imposed with the sign of the cross.
