Grace Church is a unique place of worship and service to the community. There are many opportunities within Grace for members to help make the Anniston area become a better more loving place to be. Fortunately at Grace church many members volunteer at various levels as part of an outreach ministry. Some of the many outreach ministries are:

Lobsterfest
Anniston Soup Bowl
Preschool Friends
Scholarship Fund
Social Assistance Fund

     Lobsterfest, which began at Grace Church in 1997 as a special fund raising event held at Grace Church. Along with the Lobster dinner, the festival offers arts & crafts, entertainment, and children’s activities. The profits are used to help support Habitat for Humanity. Most all of the members of Grace help on this project and the common effort brings us, as well as the community, together.

     The Anniston Soup Bowl was an original idea brought forth by Grace Church in 1984. Grace purchased, staffed and funded the facility which was soon serving 2000 meals a month. Volunteers from Grace and other churches in the community served meals Monday through Friday and some holidays. Ownership of the facility was turned over to The Soup Bowl some years ago and is still supported financially by our Outreach budget and with Grace church volunteers.

     Preschool Friends is a wonderful ministry that Grace Church started in 2001. It reaches out to the lower-to-moderate income families in our community and offers a high quality, tuition-free preschool program. Unique in many ways the Preschool Program, housed at Grace Church, helps develop and prepare preschoolers for kindergarten with skills they will need. The most important factor is that it is free tuition and requires that a parent or caregiver attend a class specifically for parents each Monday to help the parent with skills to foster the child’s development.

     At Grace Church Outreach Ministry is a very important part of who we are. The best part is that practically every member contributes in their special way to make outreach effective for the community.
